As many of you know, I’m a HUGE advocate for saying ‘no’. Well… today, I’d like to take things one step further.
I’d like to encourage you to say ‘no’ WITHOUT an explanation! It will probably be a lot harder than you think!

After only a few months of making and eating zucchini noodles, I’m far from an expert; however, based on the number of questions I’ve gotten regarding our spiralizer, I figured it was time for a post.
If you’ve wanted to try zoodles, but are unsure… I hope today’s post helps to answer a few of your questions and give you the confidence you need to finally give them a try!

It’s officially Spring Break for both Dave and Nora — and, as you’ll read below, Spring Break is most definitley one of my Favorite Things.
Today, I’m sharing a handful of other favorites… and then I’m taking the rest of the week off to enjoy all the fun activities Dave and I have planned for the kids this week!

Five years ago, I shared the self-inflicted no-spending challenge Dave and I did during the month of May. It was a great experience for us, and we learned a lot!
Since our first no-spending challenge back in 2013, Dave and I have done several smaller no-spending challenges — most recently, a no-spending challenge for fast food and restaurants (which is what I’m sharing more about today!)

Last week I purged my closet, picked up a few new finds from a local thrift store, and updated several items already in my closet — a few of which were super quick “sweatshirt updates”.
As I was cutting up my sweatshirts, I realized I had to share this on the blog — there is absolutely NO sewing required, and with a few quick snips, you can give almost any sweatshirt a brand new look!

If you think about how many hundreds and thousands of little (and big) decisions we need to make every single day, it’s no wonder so many people suffer from “decision fatigue”.
If you feel like you struggle with decision fatigue, I hope the 3 tips in today’s post will help lighten your load and allow you to make fewer decisions throughout the day.

FIVE years ago this weekend, I announced the new name for my blog — AndreaDekker.com and I’m happy to say that I’m still doing EXACTLY what I set out to do 5 years ago!
I’m taking a little walk down memory lane today, with some fun “then and now” pictures and a heart-felt thank-you to all of you who have stuck around for so long!

Our family loves cookies… and today’s recipe is one that Dave and I both instantly agreed were some of the absolute best chocolate chip cookies we’ve ever had!
Of course, I’ll keep looking and testing and baking other chocolate chip cookie recipes, but I have a feeling this one will be on regular rotation in my mixer (pun intended) for a while!

Kids + money has been a hot topic in the Dekker house these past few weeks, so I thought it would be the perfect time to share a recent Reader Question I got regarding how we handle kids and money!
Since our children are still so young, I definitely don’t feel like I have all the answers — so I’d love it if those of you with more experience in this area of parenting would enlighten us all in the comments!

As many of you know, I try to be mindful about what I bring into my home — thankfully, I’m not a big shopper, so it’s relatively easy for me to resist impulse purchases!
However, when I DO purchase something, I mentally think through several questions before bringing the item home. Today I’m sharing those questions, and how they help me resist extra clutter in my home!

The main goal of my blog is to help anyone who reads it to simplify and better organize at least one small area of their home or life… however, I feel I should clarify that in my own personal life, organization is NOT my end-all goal.
If you completely despise the acts of cleaning, purging, simplifying, and organizing… today’s post is for YOU! If I can’t motivate you today, I’m not sure what my next move will be!

Two years ago, I shared 9 tips to save on insurance (home, auto, medical, dental, life, etc.) and I believe those tips are all still very relevant today.
However, after a recent email conversation with our home/auto insurance company, I thought it was worth reiterating how ridiculously easy it can be to save money on insurance… simply by asking a few questions every now and then.
