Believe it or not, I have never had any type of “birth plan”… and I don’t plan on making one for baby #3 either!
I realize many of you might think I’m crazy, and some of you certainly will not agree with my reasonings — and that’s OK. However since I’ve been asked about my birth plan many times over the past few months I figured it was time I shared why I’ve never had a birth plan.
Now that Nora is finally sleeping through the night, I’m FINALLY getting back to a more normal morning routine (after a 3-year hiatus!)
It feels great to be back in my early morning groove again — and I can’t believe how simply starting MY day off on the right foot can make such a drastic difference in the mood for my entire family.
Four years ago, I shared a post about my Top-5 List and how it helps to reduce procrastination and increase productivity.
Today, I’m sharing a follow-up post, answering the many questions I’ve gotten about my Top-5 List… definitely a must-read if you’d like to get more done in less time 🙂
If you can relate to feeling too busy, I hope the ideas and concepts in this post will be helpful and encouraging for you — and, more importantly, I hope they will motivate you to make some changes in your life.
In my own personal experience, I’ve never once regretted creating that change yet!
I’ve already shared various posts about what a typical day in my life looks like, but I thought it might be interesting to share more about how I make the working + raising babies + housework happen… without feeling like I’m totally stressed out or way too busy.
I think there are 2 key factors for me to be able to work from home with kids — I’m sharing more in today’s post!
Over the last few months, many of you have requested a day-in-the-life post, and I suppose it has been a couple years already… so I’m due for an update!
While no 2 days are ever exactly alike (can you relate), here’s what a relatively normalish weekday looks like in our house.
Since it’s almost that time of year, I’m sharing my new planner today — and offering a couple great giveaways from Personal-Planner.com!!
For anyone who may be tempted to click away thinking “another post about babies… I’m not interested”, let me assure you this post has little to nothing to do with babies.
However, it might change the way you use your free time!

More specifically, let me share their fabulous Magnetic Wet/Dry Erase Calendar. Seriously, this thing might just revolutionize your family’s schedule!
In my experience, dropping a task that I don’t have the time or energy for can be SO freeing — and exactly what I need to simplify.
If we just stop and think about all the things we do each day, I’m guessing that there are at least a few things we can drop to open up a little more breathing room in our schedules.
Summer is always such a crazy time of year for us (I’m sure many of you can relate). On one hand, we want to work on house projects, go on vacation, and pack every day with something fun. On the other hand, we just want to relax.
This year, Dave and I are on a mission to slow down summer — to find that healthy balance between “getting stuff done” and relaxing — I’ll let you know if we succeed in about 11 weeks!
You may remember my motto for 2013 is “A Year of Ultra-Simplicity”, and one of the ways Dave and I have been able to REALLY simplify our busy schedules is by implementing daily and weekly routine — and thus saving loads of time, energy, and stress.
Sound good? Then keep reading!
Growing up, I was always involved in as many extra-curricular activities as possible (big surprise, huh!)
While I totally understand that there is only so much one child or one family can be involved in, I also think there are 3 important reasons all kids should be involved in a few extra-curricular activities (at least based on my own experiences).
This topic has been on my mind for well over a year — since just before Nora was born. And now, almost 15 months later, I’ll be the first to admit that I grossly underestimated how difficult it would be to manage home, work, family, and life.
