My Week In Review (August 27- September 2)

posted by Andrea | 08/31/2017 | 26 comments

Dave and Nora’s first day of school (and Nora’s first time riding the bus) is officially in the books — Nora said the first day was “the best day of her entire life”!

Today I’m sharing what we’ve been up to this past week, as well as many of the posts I wrote this week in previous years.

One Small Change That Simplified My Days

posted by Andrea | 08/30/2017 | 55 comments

Today I’m sharing one SUPER SIMPLE change I made to my daily life that has made a big difference and simplified one of my most hated household chores.

You might have a different “hated chore” or something else that triggers your procrastination reflexes… but I think the concept of today’s post could help you make big positive changes in your daily life too!

Back to School with Blue Apron

posted by Andrea | 08/29/2017 | 11 comments

Over the summer months, Dave and I enjoyed several delicious Blue Apron meals for lunch — after feeding the kids and sending them outside to play. It was like a mini at-home date in the middle of the afternoon — SO FUN!

Today I’m offering THREE FREE Blue Apron meals to anyone who hasn’t tried Blue Apron yet… it might be just the break you need for this busy back-to-school time of year!

My Favorite Dollar Store Buys

posted by Andrea | 08/28/2017 | 30 comments

Not everything at the dollar store is necessarily a great bargain, but there are definitely some amazing deals if you’re willing to browse!

Since we love our local dollar store so much, I thought it might be fun to share some of OUR favorite items to buy on our monthly walks to the dollar store.

My Week In Review (August 20 – 26)

posted by Andrea | 08/25/2017 | 20 comments

I haven’t decided what I plan to do with these Week In Review posts now that summer is basically over — I REALLY enjoy writing them, and many of you have said how much you enjoy reading them.

I’m considering publishing them until I have the baby — but we’ll see what I decide as the next couple of weeks pass. (Let me know if you have an opinion!) In the meantime, here’s a look at what I blogged about this week in previous years.

Halfway… Encouragement for the REALLY Long Days!

posted by Andrea | 08/24/2017 | 23 comments

If you are in the thick of LOOOOONG days without enough parenting perspective to look back and see how far you’ve come, just know you aren’t alone. I think I can speak for all parents in saying, “We’ve all been there!”

I hope today’s post offers so much encouragement for parents with tiny children… and a few smiles for those of you with a bit more parenting experience!

Blueberry Peach Pie

posted by Andrea | 08/23/2017 | 17 comments

Dave and I LOVE all types of pies — however, we really love fruit pies!

Blueberry + peach is one of our favorite pie combinations — and today, I’m sharing a recipe for an extremely simple, completely delicious blueberry peach pie that should WOW even your toughest dessert critic!

My Freezer Stash: 4 Weeks Before Baby #4

posted by Andrea | 08/22/2017 | 36 comments

Even though I’m NOT a big fan of massive freezer-cooking marathons, I decided to take advantage of the fact that Dave was home all summer to watch the kids while I cooked… and I did a “freezer cooking week” a couple weeks ago where I made several meals for the freezer each day.

It was a lot of work, but I’m thrilled to have a freezer that’s packed full of delicious ready-to-bake meals. Come take a look at everything I made!

What We Decided For The Landing Area!

posted by Andrea | 08/21/2017 | 29 comments

I’m back with the finished landing area — and I’m so happy with how it turned out!

There’s a good chance this space will continue to change and evolve over the next several years… but I honestly think this mini makeover fits our family’s needs perfectly right now!

What I Pack in My Hospital Bag

posted by Andrea | 08/18/2017 | 25 comments

Today marks 1 months until my due date — YIKES!

No, I don’t actually have my hospital bag packed a full month in advance, but I’ve gotten SOOOOOOOOO many questions asking what I pack in my hospital bag that I figured now was a good time to share… considering I’ll be getting my bag packed very soon!

My Week In Review (August 13-19)

posted by Andrea | 08/17/2017 | 24 comments

This week is our last official week of summer vacation as Dave’s teacher meetings starts up again next week Monday. Of course, I’m very thankful that he loves his job (and that he has a job!) but man, are we going to miss him!

Today I’m back with a look at what I blogged about this week in previous years — and an update on what we’ve been up to this past week!

My Favorite Make-Ahead Foods

posted by Andrea | 08/16/2017 | 11 comments

Since many of you have asked for my favorite make-ahead meal ideas, I thought it would be a perfect time to share — especially considering the busy back-to-school season is HERE!

I know make-ahead meals aren’t for everyone, but for someone like me, with multiple young children and a tight schedule to keep, make-ahead meals are one of the MAIN ways I am able to simplify each day!

Personalized Back-To-School Goodies!

Earlier this summer, I stumbled across the Stuck On You website in my search for personalized notebooks and markers for my kids. After receiving our first order (and after placing a few more orders since then) I’m convinced Stuck On You will be our go-to location for top-of-the-line personalized products!

I’m partnering with Stuck On You to offer a couple really fabulous back-to-school prize packages, valued at almost $200 each!

ONE Tip That Can Eliminate Your Clutter

posted by Andrea | 08/14/2017 | 18 comments

One of MY personal goals is to break down and simplify the often overwhelming task of decluttering our homes and lives — because I’m 100% confident anyone can be more organized if they put in a little time and effort up front, commit to doing regular maintenance, and monitor what they bring into their homes.

Today, I’m sharing my #1 tip to virtually eliminate all clutter — it might not be ‘easy’ but it sure is SIMPLE!

My Week In Review (August 6-12)

posted by Andrea | 08/11/2017 | 10 comments

Less than 20 days until Dave and Nora’s first day of school — and yes, we have a countdown chain in place 🙂

Here’s a peek back at what I blogged about this week in previous year (as always, I have a 2017 update at the end of the post!)

If It Won’t Matter in 5 Years…

posted by Andrea | 08/10/2017 | 9 comments

Several years ago, I heard a simple little phrase that has completely changed how I look at issues or problems that arise in my life.

It might be slightly naive, but it’s one of those phrases that has really stuck with me over the years, and has actually helped me to simplify so many areas of my own life.

Chicken, Zucchini, and Corn Pasta Bake

posted by Andrea | 08/9/2017 | 6 comments

It’s August — which means “zucchini season” is here!

Today’s recipe is such a quick and easy meal to whip up — I can literally have it in the oven within 15-20 minutes. It’s a great way to use up some of those delicious late-summer veggies in a comfort food sort of dish the whole family will enjoy.

My Parenting Don’ts

posted by Andrea | 08/8/2017 | 27 comments

Dave and I really don’t enjoy DOING a lot of extra things with young children. Too much ‘extra’ stresses us out, makes us crabby, and we become less fun parents.

If you’re the type of parent who can nod in agreement with many of my Parenting DON’Ts, I hope this post helps you realize you’re not alone!
